Email has become the primary mode of communication today. It is used for both personal and business purposes. Google, as it is known for, identified this status and started investing in creating a much simpler and easily accessible email service. It eventually came up with Gmail, Google’s very own email tool. It is an email service open for all free of any charge. To clarify Google offers its service in two domains. These are Gmail and Google Mail. While a @gmail.com address is most common among users, for people from some countries @googlemail.com address is the only option to use Google’s email service. Because of trademark issues people from Germany, Poland and Russian Federation use Google Mail.
It is surprising for some people to know that when they sign up for a Gmail account they receive two emails. The first is on the address of @gmail.com while the other is on @googlemail.com. This means that the two domains are interchangeable. Hence the users can circulate any of the address and the end up in the same mailbox. This also means that users registered from any of the domains cannot be duplicated. The default email address however remains to be the one from which the user initially signed up. Hence the default email address will appear in the from row when users send an email to another person.
