Navigation has been made easier with the introduction of Google Maps. These are essentially a collection of numerous satellite images to create a single globe which can be explored to find your destination and location. It is a result of a hard working Google team and their endless pursuit of making lives easier. It comes loaded with numerous other features which will be discussed in detail further.
Features to look out for
Perhaps the most cherished feature of Google Maps and the certain of attention for this article is the Street View option. This is an option in the application which allows users to access various panoramic views of various destinations along many positions in the streets. It feels like users are present there in a 3d environment. It currently covers most of American locations but is expanding in other countries as well. Google used car mounted cameras of three different types to get these stunning street images. These are known as the generation 1extending to generation
In near future the company aims at launching generation 4 cameras that will add even more detail to the images.
How to download and use Street View
The street view option is controlled with the pegman icon. Hence when exploring Google maps and if the street view is available, users can drag the pegman on to the location to zoom in beyond the default Google Maps zoom option. This will take them on to the street level of that particular location. Once there the users can use their keyboards to simply move around the location by using the arrow keys. To make it more advanced Google has allowed user to get an anaglyph version by turning on the stereoscopic 3D mode. This however requires the use of 3D or cyan glasses to view the 3D effects.
